What is a Makeathon?
A Makeathon is an educational event in which several teams develop a technological prototype during a short period of time.
Makeathon comes from MAKE+marATHON and it is a live-event where participants, spend various days creating, developing, designing, and pitching a software or hardware project they build from scratch. We provide all the resources and mentorship you need in order to make this happen!
Am I eligible to participate?
Any high school students, university students, or recent graduates are eligible to participate in our event!
Do I need to know how to code?
Nope! Our mentors make sure that even if you’re new to coding, you’ll definitely pick up enough skills at the event to make a project. In addition, if you’re a designer or business student, your design and pitching skills are also very valuable!
Can I sign up with a team?
We allow team sign ups. All team members must sign up individually and you can specify team members on your application.
What if I don’t have a team or idea?
No worries, all participants will have time to find a team during the event, and we will also have team formation activities during our event.
How much does it cost to attend?
The participation on the Makeathon itself is free of charge! However, and since the number of places for the event is limited, a small fee will be charged in order to guarantee the attendance of those registered. This fee will include transport, accommodation and full-board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the whole duration of the event, at the hostel where the Makeathon takes place.
-
The charged fee will be: 30€ for individual registrations.
-
Those registered through collaborating groups can apply for discounts!

How can I sponsor the Makeathon?
There are two possible ways to collaborate with the Makeathon:
Sponsors will have a high visibility in all advertising and promotional activities and before, during, and after the event. They might propose challenges for the students to solve, and will have presence and word during the opening, closing and organized events within the Makeathon. A group of to five members will be able to participate in the event free of charge, while other members will receive a reduction in the reservation fee. For a Sponsor status, a donation of at least 3.000€ is needed.
Collaborators will be also visible in the advertising and promotional activities. One member of the institution can also participate on the event free of charge, while other members will receive a reduction in the reservation fee. For a Collaborator status, a donation of at least 600€ is needed.
